AT A GLANCE
Housing is part of the announced Early Access content and is explicitly excluded from the public demo. XLGAMES has described shared, persistent neighborhood-style housing zones with gardening, crafting and decorating, but has not published the exact access or placement rules.

When housing is available
The official demo announcement explicitly excludes housing. Steam’s current Early Access description includes housing in that stage’s announced content. Since Early Access has not opened, these are plans rather than a currently usable public system.

Shared neighborhood design
XLGAMES has described channel-based, shared and persistent housing zones, closer to a neighborhood model than fully open-world plot placement or a private instance for every player. The stated goal is to preserve social and creative activity while reducing overcrowding and land-sniping problems.

Customization, access and unknowns
The interview names gardening, crafting, decorating, community-building and meeting or trading with neighbors. It does not publish a full house catalogue, unlock conditions, plot limits, costs or exact customization interface. Do not import land rules from the original ArcheAge into Chronicles.
